Sleeper awake! God has called you to life and peace and He is giving it to *you* through the Holy Spirit. Now...how is this possible?

In my experience, it happens through baby steps. The Spirit helps us with one area of our lives and we slowly get better at that.
It’s okay to change your life by starting small.

At one time as a young woman, I felt insecure about my future, so I got all caught up in psychics and all of that for about a year. However, the Holy Spirit would not let me be, psychics and horoscopes felt wrong. So the Spirit led me to throw away all of those books. I’d spent a lot of money on them so it was hard, but it was a first step towards only relying on God and His Word. Over the years I got more and more involved in my church community, spent more time in my Bible, and eventually went to school to learn about God. I didn’t start out as a historian and Bible scholar--I started out by tossing some bad books.

Now, what is holding you back? What small step forward can you make towards living a life in the Spirit instead of the flesh (Ro 8:1-21)?

A Prayer: Lord, thank You for fresh starts. Forgive me for the poor choices I have made, and help me to change. Show me what my first small step should be. Give me encouragement, help, and healing to be able to make this change. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
